After setting the termly learning targets for Flora, it is important to plan activities that can give her the opportunity to achieve them. More information about the learningl targets can be found here.
In order to help Flora with developing her vocabulary, her attention and memory skills , as well as encouraging her to interact with those around her, we facilitated a game that combines everything!
I need:
objects
symbols
big cloth
How to play it:
All students sit in a circle. The adult points at the objects and names all them.
The adult covers all the objects with the cloth, removes one object and then uncovers the objects.
Now it's Flora's turn. With the use of symbols, she names the objects and places them on the matching picture.
The picture that is left shows which object is missing.
Gradually Flora may not need the help of the visual board to identify which object is missing.
We used as :
- Objects- we chose vegetables
- Photos/symbols of the objects- we chose to draw them on a whiteboard
- Cloth- we used a pillowcase
